In a brazen show of courage, Congressman Kucinich took to the House Floor yesterday and called Bush and Cheney the liars that they are.
"The President and Vice President lied and 4,000 of our soldiers died. The President and Vice President lied and a million innocent Iraqis died in a war that'll cost us two trillion dollars while people here in the states are losing their jobs, their health care, their homes, their dignity. Lies are weapons of mass destruction. Lies are also an impeachable offence. Monday, January 28th is the State of the Union. We already know the State of the Union, it's a lie."

I've just learned that Dennis Kucinich has dropped out of the Presidential race. I hope he will either run as an Independent (bet he would win!) or will take this nation by surprise and encourage all his supporters to gather in one place and show the power we have. Please take this man seriously! He can change the pattern we are all part of and bring America to favor in the rest of the world. I fear that any other (corporate-sponsored) candidate will not change much about America and simply continue the corporatocracy we have now. We absolutely need Dennis's courage--please stand tall and proud. Demand justice, demand impeachment of these two, and demand Pelosi, Hoyer and whoever else is screwing with democracy step down or be run out of office. My prayers are with you, Dennis, and your soul-mate Elizabeth. Stay safe; I fear there is too much corruption around and you are at risk. Is it possible that your brother was killed rather than died of natural causes? I, too, have always thought it was quite a convenient coincidence when Paul Wellstone, the best senator we had at the time was killed with his family in that plane "crash." Plane crashes are relatively rare but so many of them seem to happen in ways that exert a large (and always deleterious) effect on our government. Can they all be coincidences? Now, I haven't read any conspiracy theories about Wellstone's death, but I am wondering why not?

I'd have taken either one as a leader at this point in our history and wish you the best in returning him to the House. The details of the two men are quite different however the results would be primarily the same - honesty and directing a return to Constitutional federal governance. Kucinich all talk and no action? Kucinich introduced impeachment articles against Cheney (HR 333) on April 24, 2007. The US "liberal" ROTFL press "vaporized" him and his fully official campaign for President of the United States by all but refusing to mention his name and prohibiting him from appearing on debates etc. The slimy "top tier" candidates have lost my vote because they SAID NOTHING and DID NOTHING about this GROSS VIOLATION OF ELECTORAL FAIRNESS and participated in the farce debates (let alone failing to get on the impeachment bandwagon). If Clinton, Edwards and Obama are not in favor of impeaching Bush/Cheney they appear not to believe that what Bush has done is unconstitutional or criminal - and therefore could easily choose to follow the same path.

Before hanging Pelosi, she has to her credit that she mentioned PNAC on the Daily Show fairly early in the game. PNAC's so-called "Re-Building America's Defenses" paper which directly insinuates that we "need" to take a hit like 9/11 for reasons of national security, is an utterly twisted little work that ought to be enough in itself to get this administration assigned to the nut ward if not maximum security prisons. What follows is not the failure of Pelosi and it's more likely the failure of a minority of Americans, somehow masquerading as a near-majority with the assistance of corporate media, to pull their heads out.
This same oblivious minority can also apparently be made with ease to think that Cheney's lawyer friend just pranced right into his shotgun sights only days before the Bar Association as a whole was scheduled to issue their condemnation of eavesdropping practices - news that was very conveniently edged from the headlines by the quail hunting incident. The whole Bar Association might as well have woken up next to a horse's head.
I have yet to want to hold it against Pelosi, Conyers or anyone else for perhaps acting as if this administration really is as dangerous and vindictive as most of us know that it is, or for failing to attempt to the martyrdom that I really wouldn't ask of them. Keeping this admin from further warmonging and at the same time somehow keeping them from issuing further "national security incentives" like 9/11 is also a challenge I wouldn't envy personally. I almost want to be a little proud of them that we're not making Fallujah out of Tehran right this minute after the endless war drumming coming from the WH. I'm anxious to see what comes out of people like Pelosi once this administration is no longer in such a position to intimidate, sabotege and quash every investigation into these matters.
Anyway, now that Kucinich has taken his efforts back to keeping a seat on Congress, I hope others will offer him all the support in that battle that they can.

I dread saying this but my fellow Americans do not know American History, probably have never read The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and the Federalist Papers which reflect the actual views of our Founding Fathers. These topics should be mandatory study requirements in our schools. Another problem is that we as a people are too good natured and tend to want to believe what people tell us. Karl Rove, on behalf of Bush played up the abortion, gay marriage, and stem cell research issues, solely to get votes and succeeded by inducing the Evangelican voters and others to support Bush.

He was blowing smoke and 51 million Americans fell for it-because they didn't do their homework. We must severely limit the big donations from Lobbyists, have truly neutral media systems, and perhaps even a Non-Government Oversight Committee made of participants from all walks of life, to constantly check on the operations of both our Executive and Legislative Branches of Government. As for Impeachment of Bush & Cheney, if Nancy Pelosi will not send it to the House Floor then perhaps a national referendum will be required to force the Congress to do what they are paid to do - defend the Constitution from All Enemies, Foreign and Domestic.

"After making a statement on the floor of the House of Representatives last week indicating my intent to introduce articles of impeachment against George W. Bush, I met with members of the Judiciary Committee. After that brief meeting, I am hopeful there will be an inquiry by the Judiciary Committee. I will give them the opportunity to proceed before introducing articles of impeachment."
