We are outraged. This Democratic Congress was elected to end the occupation, not fund it forever.

Headline: House Democrats work on huge Iraq money bill
House Democratic leaders are putting together the largest Iraq war spending bill yet, a measure that is expected to fund the war through the end of the Bush presidency and for nearly six months into the next president's term.
The bill, which could be unveiled as early as this week, signals that Democrats are resigned to the fact they can't change course in Iraq in the final months of President Bush's term. Instead, the party is pinning its hopes of ending the war on winning the White House in November....
Joint Chiefs Chairman Says U.S. Preparing Military Options Against Iran
Fri, 04/25/2008 - 09:42 — nadiaThe nation's top military officer said today that the Pentagon is planning for "potential military courses of action" against Iran, criticizing what he called the Tehran government's "increasingly lethal and malign influence" in Iraq.
Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said a conflict with Iran would be "extremely stressing" but not impossible for U.S. forces, pointing specifically to reserve capabilities in the Navy and Air Force.
"It would be a mistake to think that we are out of combat capability," he said at a Pentagon news conference.

Shirley Golub: I'm On The Table 2
Sat, 04/19/2008 - 08:36 — joePlease donate to help put this spot on TV in San Francisco now. And join Shirley Golub every Thursday at noon in front of Nancy Pelosi's district office at 450 Golden Gate Ave. to say, "I'm on the table, Nancy, and as long as I am, impeachment is too.
Nancy Pelosi "Running Scared"
WHY: SHIRLEY, not Nancy
1 - Shirley feels strongly it is essential for the current Congress to
act now to bring articles of impeachment against both VP Cheney and
George W. Bush, so the American public fully understands their illegal
acts and puts pressure on our representatives in the House and the
Senate to do the right thing to prevent further abuses.
2 - Shirley will vote faithfully in Congress to de-fund the war in Iraq
so the troops can come home.
3 - Shirley will co-sponsor single-payer health care for all (H.R.
676).
4 - Shirley will work hard to have more jobs for workers here in the
U.S. by canceling N.A.F.T.A. and other so-called free trade agreements
Can Americans Stop Bush/Cheney From Attacking Iran? The Answer is Yes!
Imagine The Huffington Post, BuzzFlash, Op-Ed News, Capitol Hill Blue,
Raw Story, AfterDowningStreet.org, Rense.com, The BRAD BLOG, The Daily
KOS, The Smirking Chimp, TV News and Lies, Alex Jones, Michael Moore,
and the huge amount of Hollywood celebrities that could contribute to
this cause! What if they all published editorials in unison calling for
a general strike that would effectively halt all commerce and services
throughout the United States? How would Congress react then? What
choice would they have? This country cannot operate without you and me,
the “average people” who don’t have a voice in government - but who
could effectively, in a non-violent manner, shut-down this country
until Congress is forced to do their damn jobs!
